Liturgical Ministries

Altar Servers: Altar servers exercise an important role in helping the priest to lead God’s people in prayer. The care and attention that altar servers give their ministry allows the mass to take place with reverence and beauty. Altar server training begins in fifth grade, and servers are then scheduled quarterly in the parish ministry schedule. Servers assist the priest with weekly Masses as well as weddings, funerals, and specially designated prayer celebrations. Our servers perform their roles with commitment and respect. Vocations: Prayer for Vocations: Heavenly Father, with a deep trust in the love that flows from the heart of your Son, and by the gifts of your Holy spirit, give to the seminarians, novices and all young people of the Archdiocese the courage to respond generously when you call them to the priesthood and religious life. Give them strong examples of holy priests and religious.  Through the intercession of the saints and by our prayers, help them pattern their lives after Mary, who was not afraid to let it be done to her according to your Word (Lk 1:38).  We ask this through Christ our Lord.  Amen.

If you think Jesus may be calling to you the priesthood or religious life, talk to your Pastor, or contact the Vocation Director at (913) 647-0303  To learn more about discerning your vocation, visit www.kckvocations.com. You will find Vocation Forms at the Information Station if you are interested in being contacted by our Archdiocese’s Vocation Director.  Please fill the form out and hand it to Father Pete after Mass.  If you know of someone with an interest in a Vocation to the Priesthood , please take the form to them so that they can fill it out and either hand it to Father Pete or mail it to the Parish offices.
