Service to the Most Vulnerable in Our Community

On the first Saturday of each month, parishioners help the Sisters and Friars of the Poor of Jesus Christ Franciscan Sisters’ home in Kansas City, Kansas, feed the poor. Your help is very much appreciated!

The Sisters provide a list of items for distribution to people in need in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Usually we are asked for sack lunches, bottled water, gift cards, drink mixes, and takeout containers. To receive the Sisters' monthly requests, please sign up for email updates by clicking the button below. Donations are collected in the QHR south parking lot on the first Saturday of the month, from 8:00-8:45 a.m.

***Please note for August: we will collect donations and help the Sisters on August 8 instead of the usual first Saturday***

The Sisters go out to the streets to distribute these needed items and pray with people on the streets in Kansas City, Kansas. We will be going to one stop from 10 a.m.-noon. Volunteers are welcome; you must be 18 or older to go on the street and you must be Virtus trained. Please email us at QHRstreetministry@gmail.com with questions.
