A Day of Faith, History, and Renewal!
Join us for a Jubilee Year 2025 pilgrimage to Mound City, Kansas, featuring a Civil War battlefield tour, prayer at Sacred Heart Church (a Sacred Jubilee Site), a talk by Fr. Barry Clayton, a visit to the Shrine of St. Rose Philippine Duchesne, and an outdoor Mass.
Trip Itinerary:
- Bus will leave the QHR south parking lot at 9:00 am
- Mine Creek Battlefield
- Walking tour of a major Civil War battle
- Lee Crutchfield will give an overview of the battle
- Tour and presentation of the museum
- Sacred Heart Church (Sacred Jubilee Site)
- Lunch
- Talk by Father Barry Clayton
- Prayer Hour
- Shrine of St Philippine Duchesne
- Walking tour of the site
- Outdoor Mass
- Bus arrives back at QHR around 6:30 p.m.
Trip cost is $25.00 per person and includes:
- Bus transportation to/from Mound City, KS
- Boxed lunch and bottled water
- Snacks on the bus
Payment is due at the time of registration. Participation is limited to 53 pilgrims. Please bring your own folding lawn chair for the outdoor Mass, as well as any other items needed for the bus ride and tour. This is a walking tour; attendees need to be able to walk 1-1.5 miles at a time. Rain or shine!
